West Ham United fans are becoming increasingly anxious that 31-year-old Sunderland flop Titus Bramble will be offered a deal at the club.

Bramble turned out in the team’s first pre-season friendly against Cork City which they won 6-2, after reports that he was merely training with the team to keep up fitness levels.

And earlier coach Ian Hendon said that he’d play a part in a couple of early games to prove himself after which the manager Sam Allardyce would make a decision on him.

A well placed Upton park source told Sports Direct News exclusively: “We have the impression the manager may feel he needs a central defender.

“But some of us feel there are other more important areas that need filling and we have to watch the cash.

“I have no doubt there will be further talks on this one but the main priority remains a second striker.”

Numerous Hammers fans have made their feelings known on Twitter about the possibility of Bramble becoming a Hammer, describing him from “rubbish” to much worse.

  1. I would actually like Titus Bramble to join us, give him a chance he’s a premier league player who is tall, strong and quite a good header towards goal and has a good clearance of the ball. If Titus is that bad why would Sunderland, a premier league club keep him for so long.
