Villa want Green to replace Friedel
Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier is considering a move for West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green as a replacement for Brad Friedel, who is set to return to the United States in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
Green is thought to be valued at around £6 million, but whether the Hammers are in the Premier League or not next season could affect the price.
West Ham will not be keen to let their No.1 leave the club, but he is thought to be one of the highest paid players at Upton Park and this could tempt them into selling.
Co-owner David Sullivan has said in the past that any player at the club could potentially leave, apart from vice-captain Scott Parker.
