Everton join the Obinna race
Everton are eyeing West Ham United attacker Victor Obinna.
The Nigeria international has been impressive during his loan spell from Inter Milan.
West Ham can sign him permanently in June, with Inter keen to offload the attacker.
But the Daily Mail says Everton are also keeping tabs on the situation.
Meanwhile, West Ham United had earlier made known their intentions to bring Victor Obinna to Upton Park permanently.
Avram Grant’s side would like to sign the player on a free transfer after Inter decided not to take up the option to extend the Nigerian’s contract.
Obinna has scored eight goals in his time at West Ham and was expected to return to the San Siro at the end of the season.
Speaking about the situation Obinna said: “I had a loan deal until the end of the season with an option on my contract to be registered before the end of January for 2011 and 2012, but they (Inter) did not register it”.
He continued: “Will I stay at West Ham? I am happy in London but we will have to evaluate many things”.
Obinna has previously played for Chievo for which he scored 19 goals in 82 games after which he joined Inter Milan. However he could not gain a regular starting place amongst the more experienced players and was sent out on loan to Malaga and then West Ham.
The 23-year-old is a Nigerian international with 7 goals in 35 games and will be keen to get his career on track with regular football.
