For a few seconds I believed!

For a few minutes I actually believed West Ham was actually going to pull the rabbit out the hat and produce the new Hartson/Kitson!

Unfortunately Keane would rather go to hell then come to us and Adebayor well he just laughed and laughed and…….. well laughed.

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has turned down the chance to go to West Ham United on loan, according to reports.

The striker, who has been out of favour under manager Roberto Mancini, turned down the move to Upton Park, according to the Evening Standard.

Rumours suggest that the Hammers were willing to splash out a £100,000 a week on wages. West Ham are desperate to land a striker as they lie bottom of the table and seen Adebayor as an ideal candidate for the vacancy since the Togolese striker has been on the sidelines at Eastlands for the past month.

During that time the £25 million hit man has only featured in two Europa League matches but rather than go on loan to West Ham he is determined to fight for his place in the Blues starting XI.

With relegation looming over the Hammers, Avram Grant wants to bolster his squad with four new players in the transfer window, however a striker is still the necessity with the club having only found the back of the net 16 times in 18 matches.

But there could be good news in their pursuit of midfielder Steven Sidwell, who seems likely to join from Aston Villa on loan.

West Ham’s move for a player of this nature would seem to suggest that they are preparing themselves for the departure of the influential Scott Parker who has been linked to bigger clubs. But it is understood that Swiss international Valon Behrami might be more likely to leave as he wants a return to Italian football
