Hammers to try and lure Mauro Formica one last time
West Ham United are said to have renewed their interest in Argentinean midfielder Mauro Formica .
The Hammers made what was ultimately an unsuccessful move for the 22-year-old in the summer, but according to his club, Newell’s Old Boys, the Premier League basement boys have now made enquires about signing him in January.
Formica is a fast and creative player who can dribble, pass or finish with both feet, even though he’s naturally right footed. He generally plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also utilised as a forward. With a good shoot from distance, too, Formica is a constant threat on goal.
He is Newell’s Old Boys’ biggest promise, and is valued at €2.5M-5M.
Formica has scored five goals and set up two in 20 games this season. Not bad for a midfielder.
