Avram set on new Keeper
West Ham are interested in signing former Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc from Italian side Fiorentina, according to reports in Spain.
Hammers boss Avram Grant publicly backed his current number one custodian Robert Green after he produced several great saves to ensure his side secured maximum points in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Tottenham at Upton Park.
However that has not stopped speculation claiming that Grant is eventually aiming to replace Green between the sticks after his otherwise poor start to the campaign which has come hot on the heels of his disastrous World Cup with England.
Grant is thought to be keen on snapping up 30-year-old Boruc from Fiorentina if he becomes available in the coming January transfer window. However, the main obstacle to the Hammers taking Boruc is Spanish side Sevilla are also thought to want the Poland international as a direct replacement for 36-year-old Andres Palop, who is now coming towards the end of his career.
