Yom Kippur?
West Ham boss Avram Grant could miss the Hammers clash at Stoke City a week on Saturday due to the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.
West Ham have made a very disappointing start to the season, having lost their opening three games in the Premier League. Grant himself has come under pressure already and West Ham co-owner David Sullivan took the step this week of giving the manager a vote of confidence.
However, the Hammers face the daunting prospect of the visit of Chelsea to Upton Park this weekend followed by a trip to Stoke City a week on Saturday in which West Ham will hope to pick up points.
The Daily Star though reports that Grant could miss the Stoke game as it coincides with the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur. Grant is known to take his religion seriously and may opt to observe the day by refraining from working, eating and drinking.
