Stephane Sessegnon the latest midfield target
WHU are the latest Premier League club to be associated with a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Stephane Sessegnon, with L’Equipe suggesting the London club are keen on the Benin international.
A number of English top flight clubs have been attracted to Sessegnon in the past, with Chelsea even said to be seriously interested before now. Though the versatile 26-year-old attacking midfielder had indicated his desire to leave the French capital for England at the beginning of the summer, he would appear to have settled over the course of the transfer window, pleased that he is now back on his natural right side after PSG’s signing of Nene.
Avram Grant, the Hammers’ new manager, is reportedly hastening to put together a package that may entice both the club and the player into a deal, doubtless impressed by Sessegnon’s performance against Saint-Etienne in PSG’s opening Ligue 1 match of the season last weekend.
In that game, Sessegnon was a lively threat for les Rouge et Bleu, acting as the catalyst of his side’s second goal in their 3-1 win as his acrobatic volley hit the post before bouncing back off stricken Sainte goalkeeper Jeremie Janot and into the net.
Last season played 33 games scored 3 times, (made 35 appearances for his country (Benin) scored 8 times
