No offers for Hammer’s stopper
Sport.co.uk understands that no offers have been tabled for England and West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green despite reports of initial interest from Arsenal and Fulham.
A source close to Robert Green informed Sport.co.uk that the Hammers had not received any firm offers for the goalkeeper and that the England stopper looked set to begin the next Premier League campaign in an irons shirt.
Green has been linked with a move to Arsenal and more recently Fulham, however the player looks set to be central to West Ham’s Premier League under new boss Avram Grant.
Green was publicly vilified for his mistake against the USA in England’s opening World Cup game, immediately losing his spot as England’s number 1 to Portsmouth’s David James.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was linked with a move for Green earlier in the summer with sports bookmakers tipping the keeper to move to the Emirates. Fulham were this weekend tipped in a number of reports to sign Green as a replacement for outgoing stopper Mark Schwarzer.
