Looks like the penny finally dropped Zola
I think we all kind of came to the same conclusion that Zola’s target to keep us up was WAY TOO LOW! Now he realises that he has set a ridiculous target of 10 points out of 15.
Well we all know there is no way in hell we are going to achieve that so are we as good as down? It all depends on Hull, if they hit a little form we are down simple as that.
Gianfranco Zola has set his players an ambitious survival target of ten points from West Ham’s last five games.
West Ham boss Zola admits that his original points target of 34 may not be enough to keep them in the Premier League as the fight for survival hots up.
Under-pressure Zola, whose side face Sunderland tomorrow, said: “I would like to get ten points from the last five games.
“We were thinking 34 points would have been good but we are not sure if that will be OK. It is important we go every single game and try to get the maximum.”
Zola, whose team are without the suspended Scott Parker, says last Sunday’s draw at Everton has given West Ham new belief.
Zola added: “Tomorrow we go on the pitch with a new life and we will see what we can do.
“What was missing doesn’t matter any more for me. It is past, it is history. What is important is what we can give tomorrow. If we can play with a fighting spirit and the passion we did against Everton then things will go well for us.”
