It’s official then, that momentous moment has finally arrived.
Nigel Quashie finally brought his unsuccessful stint at West Ham to an end when he rejoined QPR this afternoon.
The midfielder, who has not featured in the Hammers’ first team since March 2007, has been allowed to move to the club where he began his career on a free transfer.
Quashie, 31, was one of a host of signings made by former Irons boss Alan Curbishley in January 2007 in an ultimately successful fight against relegation.
But the combative Scottish international never really fitted in, making just eight appearances after joining from West Bromwich Albion, with a broken foot against Tottenham Hotspur being his last outing in a Hammers’ shirt.
Quashie started his career at Loftus Road, leaving for Nottingham Forest in 1998.
Meanwhile young midfielder Josh Payne has joined Wycombe Wanderers on loan.
