Sam Allardyce is desperate to bolster his forward line as he looks to keep the Hammers on course for a return to the Premier League.

He has been linked with a number of players this winter but has been frustrated in his efforts to secure targets such as Nikica Jelavic, and has switched his focus elsewhere.

While Genoa striker Ze Eduardo has arrived ahead of a potential transfer, West Ham are also understood to have contacted Championship rivals Leicester regarding the availability of Beckford.

Beckford only joined the Foxes in the summer after a season with Everton in the Premier League, while he had previously plied his trade with Leeds.

Vaz Te has bagged 12 goals this season, with ten of them in the Championship.

“The offer is derisory and we’ve turned it down,” confirmed Reds director Don Rowing. “We’re still in talks with West Ham, so we’ll have to see if anything happens there.”

League Two hopefuls Crawley are keen to bolster their attacking options as they look to maintain their bid for promotion and they have targeted a move for Nouble.

Nouble is back at West Ham after a successful spell on loan at Gillingham earlier this season, where he scored five goals.

The England Under 19 international, who scored on his only start for West Ham in the Championship this term against Derby, is well down the pecking order at Upton Park.

It is believed West Ham have granted Nouble permission to talk to Crawley about a move to the Red Devils.

Nouble is believed to have attracted the interest of a host of Championship and League One clubs, but Crawley hope to tie up a deal for the striker before the close of the transfer window.

At the moment West Ham and Southampton look like the front runners but we have been pegged back by Cardiff and Boro. I’m not quite sure what business 3rd and 4th have made up to now but Southampton have got a gem in Sharp.

Sharp and Lambert paired up will see them promoted in my opinion. In fact they now have the strongest attacking partnership in this league.

So begs the question what the fuck have our lot been thinking? South Americans need time to bed in, this chump has only played 4 times up to now so not only does he need time has also needs to get fit!! This is desperation of the highest proportion.

I’m convincing myself another more deadlier attacking force is on his way and this guy is here as back up. I sincerely hope so because even if Ze gets fit before the end of the season he cant score for shit and stats are there in black and white.

Let’s hope this signing is just enough to get us promoted but expect to see Southampton leave the rest for dead now.

The Brazilian shot to the top of manager Sam Allardyce’s wanted list as the Hammers seek added firepower to take them to the Premier League.

Allardyce failed with bids for Huddersfield’s Jordan Rhodes and Nikica Jelavic of Rangers but are confident of landing Ze Eduardo.

The striker only joined Genoa 12 months ago when they paid Santos £4million for his services, but he was unable to make his debut as his Italian passport did not come through in time.

He was loaned back to Santos and scored seven goals in 16 games, before returning to Genoa in December.

He has yet to score for the Serie A side however and could clinch a permanent deal at West Ham if he impresses between now and May.

The African striker has failed to agree personal terms with the Championship club but has refused to rule out a transfer in the January transfer window

SAM ALLARDYCE has made a THIRD bid of £5million for Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes.
Allardyce has stepped up his attempts to sign the Scotland international and offered £4million plus a guaranteed £1m if the Hammers are promoted.

Rhodes, 21, is the top scorer in the country after firing in 26 goals for the Terriers and has been Allardyce’s No.1 target in this transfer window.

Allardyce is trying again for Rhodes after a £6m bid for Rangers’ Croatian star Nikica Jelavic was rejected.

Kia Joorabchian has told talkSPORT that there is no possibility of Carlos Tevez joining West Ham on loan.

The 27-year-old Argentine striker is currently the subject of intense speculation about his future, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain all linked.

But his agent has revealed that a move to the Championship leaders is not on the agenda despite rumours suggesting a return to Upton Park could be close.

“He is a West Ham fanatic”, Joorabchian said. “That is one club that is very close to his heart but I think that would not be possible.

“First of all Carlos is in a different position at the moment. West Ham are top of the league in the Championship, they have a good squad, they have a different objective. They’re in a division that is fighting for promotion.

“It would be very difficult for Man City to want to loan him out because they would have to end up compensating a lot of the salary and why would they do that?”
